MY VINTAGE KEN COLLECTION MOVES

FINDING A NEW HOME WITH THE FASHION HISTORY MUSEUM

I’m moving, and downsizing, and my VINTAGE KEN collection is also on the move.
I’ve known Jonathon Walford and Kenn Norman for many years, and knew their “FASHION HISTORY MUSEUM” would be the perfect permanent home for my collection.

Artifact of the Month

Ken doll dressed as Prince Charming, 1964/65,

Gift of James B. Fowler, FHM 25.40.90

Ten years ago we hosted an exhibition from the private collection of James B. Fowler’s 1960s Ken dolls with every outfit ever made by Mattel for Ken between 1961 and 1968. Last year James gifted his collection of over 120 dressed dolls and garments to the FHM.

James brought Ken to Paris on several of his trips, so in keeping with the tradition, we brought Ken, dressed here in his 1964/65 Prince Charming outfit, for a trip to Stratford’s Shakespeare Festival.
