1962 STRAIGHT LEG MOLDED HAIR KEN

1962

Ken had a new less rounded head mold with painted crew-cut hair in blond or brunette. He was still on the same slender body but the leg stance was closer together this year.

He came dressed in red trunks, made of smooth poplin material, although  a few were made of cotton jersey. They were accompanied by a red and white striped beach jacket. This first jacket had a stitched-on white terrycloth collar and lining.

The cello packet included the the red and brown sandals and the fashion booklet. Of course Ken was identified by the official Mattel wrist tag. A black wire stand was also included.

The new box showed this years Ken and the previous black and white trunks had been corrected to the actual red version included.

TThe 1961 Ken was still on the market during the early part of 1962.
